Organised Skulls

Another of those TVWeekly organisers, this time for a friend who gave me two sugar skulls she made for a mexican festival (5th May? I can't remember!) She likes that sort of thing, so hopefully she'll like this too! :) I decorated it with the skull from my Halloween freebies a couple of weeks back. Oh, I made the tassel myself too, but only cos I keep forgetting to buy some!

Great job! I'm guessing the holiday is Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) which is celebrated Nov. 1 and 2. :) (I remember hearing about this on some craft show I used to watch on DIY.)

From Wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Day_of_the_Dead

The Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos in Spanish) is a holiday celebrated mainly in Mexico and by people of Mexican heritage (and others) living in the United States and Canada. The holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and relatives who have died. The celebration occurs on the 1st and 2nd of November, in connection with the Catholic holy days of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day which take place on those days. Traditions include building private altars honoring the deceased, and using sugar skulls, marigolds, and the favorite foods and beverages of the departed. Observance of the holiday in Mexican-American communities in the United States has become more important and widespread as the community grows numerically and economically. Mexican-style Day of the Dead festivities have spread around the world, including to Europe and New Zealand

If it was 5th May then it will be Cinco De Mayo:
Cinco de Mayo (Spanish for "5th of May") is Mexican national holiday that honors the Mexican victory over the French army at Puebla de los Angeles in 1862 (from Wikipedia);-)

Fab folders these Dan. (I made one myself)

Fun project. I went and checked out the TVWeekly. Some interesting videos there.

Also wanted to share - I gave you some blog love. Used your bracket SVGs to make a mini albums out of acetate and KI Sheer Delights. Turning out pretty good, thanks to you!

My daughter loves all things Pirate/with skulls and crossbones, so this would be considered Sooooooooo COOL in our house!

LOVE the skull tabs, by the way! Can't wait to show my daughter!!! (She'll want one of her own, I'm sure!)

Thanks for showing the range of styles you can achieve with this same pattern just by changing the papers and the accents. I get stuck in a rut with the same colors and ideas and it's nice to see different things, especially from the same project!

Hi, Your organized skull is GREAT, I have a Grandson that would love that, may I get the instructions??....

Thank you, Sharon

Hi Sharon

The organiser is actually from a video on Scrapbook Lounge. They show you from start to finish how to make it (I just stuck my own skulls on to decorate it later). You can see the video here.

You can also print out their instructions that tell you what sizes to cut your cardstock etc.

I hope that helps!

Best wishes

Dan
