Not all cards are made with Retro Grunge

... but this one certainly is!  When I sat down at my desk I found a square of Retro Grunge paper left from another project, so given my current campaign to use up some of my patterned cardstock, I decided to make it the base for this card!

Add on some swipes of white paint dabber and wild honey distress stain, some splatters of butterscotch color wash spray, a Sharpie white paint pen and some Tim Holtz stamps and Bob's yer uncle! :)

It's incredibly impressive how well you've integrated the patterned cardstock into the final composition. You've neither obliterated it nor allowed it to stand as a finished element - the swipes and splatters just transform it into a deep, textural background for those beautiful stamps (which are especially well chosen, I think).

I've just spent a few days in farmland and this piece reminds me strongly of the serene wildness of being outdoors, in amongst long grass and overgrown trees, enjoying the warmth of the day and the random perfection of nature. I really love it. Thanks for making such beautiful pieces.
