...is a man trying to take all the credit! Or so my twist on the original saying would have it. You know what they say, many a true word spoken in jest!
The theme over on the Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge this week is "backgrounds". I loooove background stamps, such a great way to give quick texture and dimension to a project. I lucky enough to get several of the Darkroom Door background stamps for Christmas last year, and I've used the woodgrain one here, stamped twice, once horizontally and once vertically.
I coloured the background with Promarkers and then stamped the Dina Wakley Silhouette Script figure. The man was stamped separately on another manilla tag and coloured with 5 shades of warm grey. His watch and collar were highlighted with a white pen then he was cut out and fixed in place.
The ticket is a Memory Box stamp and I hand-drew the lettering on it then cut it out and fixed it in place. There ya go, that's all there was to it! :) Looking at this now, two weeks after I made it, I love how richly detailed that woodgrain in the background is!
Supplies I used included:
Our ever-generous sponsor Simon Says Stamp is offering a $50 gift voucher as the prize again this week, just make something for the challenge and you could the winner! The winner will be chosen at random from those who enter the challenge, so why not give it a try? At the very least why not head over to the Challenge Blog to see how the other members of the design team have interpreted this weeks theme! :)
Don't forget, Simon Says Stamp have a great Facebook page too! Check them out here!

Dan...once again, your wonderful sense of humor comes through on your piece for SSSS this week. I love your vibrant colors and your use of Tim's and Dina's stamps. They are absolutely perfect for your sentiment...which I LOVE, by the way! <3 Candy
Hi Dan, your background looks just like planks of wood to me, I love it. Love how you used the silhouette in the background. The handsome chap in the foreground looks fabulous, I have to say your colouring is fabulous. Fantastic sentiment. Tracy x x
