The theme over on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge this week is "Yellow". Whatever you think of this piece, based on the idea of dreams, you have to admit that it certainly meets the yellow requirement! :) Put on your yellow thinking cap and create something yourself for the Challenge - you could be the winner of a $50 voucher to shop at Simon Says Stamp.
This was always going to be a fun project to work on because it gave me the chance to take some new stamps out of their packaging and use them for the first time.
I started out by blending my background with Mustard Seed and Wild Honey distress inks then I used the splatter background from the Cracks and Specks set with Dusty Concord ink for the splatters. I love the stars from the new Big Top set and stamped them several times with Fired Brick ink.
The eyes were stamped on printer paper in two shades of Black (archival and memento), cut out and fixed in place, then I did the same thing with the skull. The checkerboard was stamped, coloured with Mustard Seed and cut out then fixed in place.
The curtain wasn't quite wide enough to stretch the full width of my piece so I stamped it twice, coloured it and cut them out. I fixed the right side in place first then the left side (ending with the central gather) on top. If I say so myself, it's pretty hard to see the join! :)
Supplies I used included:
No picture listy thing this week, technical difficulties, hopefully resolved soon! Oh, and it's also why the product lists on previous posts are broken :(
Our ever-generous sponsor Simon Says Stamp is offering a $50 gift voucher as the prize again this week, just make something for the challenge and you could the winner! The winner will be chosen at random from those who enter the challenge, so why not give it a try? At the very least why not head over to the Challenge Blog to see how the other members of the design team have interpreted this weeks theme! :)
Don't forget, Simon Says Stamp have a great Facebook page too! Check them out here!
