A Box of Timely Note Cards

The theme over on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge this week is "Tick Tock" so dig out your time-related stash and get creative with it - if you enter the challenge you will be in the running for a $50 shopping voucher at Simon Says Stamp!

I was so excited to start on this boxed set of note cards and envelopes because it's the first chance I've had to use the Envelope Punch Board (EPB) from WRMK.  So excited in fact, that I clean forgot that my 5x5 cards came with their own envelopes and wasted spent time making my own!  Ah well, we live and learn :)  If you search on youtube there are so many tutorials for different things you can make with this board, I used it to make the box for my cards, after following the video from Frenchiestamps.  There are other, shorter EPB box videos but they mostly only show one size, whereas Frenchiestamps passes on the formula you can use to make boxes of whatever size you need.  I made my box from a sheet of Tim Holtz's Lost and Found card stock and gave it a label stamped with Simon Says Stamp's Sketched Alphabet.

As I frequently do when faced with a time-themed project, I took a look at the Tattered Time card stack.  Some of the distressed cogs and gears are so grungy and atmospheric that I knew they'd make perfect note cards.  I used 2 sheets, cutting 3 squares from 1 and 2 from the other.

For my envelopes, I masked off the centre of each one and used a range of time themed stamps on them with a Coffee Archival Ink Pad.  I used a faded corduroy distress marker to give a crisp edge to the edges of the stamping.

Supplies I used included:

Our ever-generous sponsor Simon Says Stamp is offering a $50 gift voucher as the prize again this week, just make something for the challenge and you could the winner! The winner will be chosen at random from those who enter the challenge, so why not give it a try? At the very least why not head over to the Challenge Blog to see how the other members of the design team have interpreted this weeks theme! :)

The notecards are pretty awesome. I love how you stamped the edges. Great design! But the box is what really added the "wow" factor. Very cool!

These are insanely inventive-- but then again, I shouldn't be surprised! You always do amazing things. I love how these cards are tied together by theme, but everything is still so unique. Gorgeous!
