This weeks theme on the Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge is "Handmade Background". I wanted to have a play around with layers on this piece, so while creating the handmade background with Claudine Hellmuth paints, I inserted 3 images of the man at different stages in the process. The framing also plays on the idea of layers - at first glance it looks like the central panel is mounted on a larger panel covered with script, whereas the script is a wooden frame and the central panel is sunk into it.
Our ever-generous sponsor Simon Says Stamp is offering a $50 gift voucher as the prize again this week! The winner will be chosen at random from those who enter the challenge, so why not give it a try? At the very least why not head over to the Challenge Blog to see how the other members of the design team have interpreted this weeks theme! :)

This is amazing Dan! I love the dimension of the script! Cool idea to put the men in during various stages, it really creates some dynamic interest into the piece!
Love the bkgrd layers. Neat card! :)
It's great I love all your layers there is just so much to look at :)
Dan, you are so clever! I love your piece and its visual depth. The multi layered man is a great idea and I love your idea of that! Great colors and shapes, etc. in your various stages of his "creation". The frame is the perfect complimentary element for your multi layers man. It's a fantastic piece! <3 Candy
Love your idea of adding the man at differing stages of the creative process, inspired. Great colours and shades create a fabulous background Dan and I love the script on the frame. Great depth to this piece. Tracy x
I love how you intagrated the man and the colours are gorgeous!
Brilliant !!
Very clever effect - the central panel really does look like it is 'proud' of the script frame rather than behind it.
