from Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There, Lewis Carroll, 1872
Not that I'm a walrus or anything you understand. I just felt it was time to speak of a few things, and a blog seems to be the best way to do it.
I am an artist.
I am a crafter.
Or a crafty artist or artful crafter if you prefer.
Basically I make things out of paper, and that's what I'll be talking about in this blog. Inks, papers, rubber stamps, metal findings, eyelets, hole punches, ribbons, paints and powders are the tools of my trade. Things I make include:
- Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) - 2.5" x 3.5" cards made to express a particular thought or sentiment, or to showcase a particular art or craft technique. Never sold, these cards are made solely for trading with like minded artists.
- Fatbook Pages - 4" x 4" squares of decorated card (usually around a theme). Traded with other artists so that each person builds up a book of the work of others, known as a "fatbook" (so called because with the dimensional raised elements on each page, the fatbook is pretty thick even after only a few pages have been added).
- Mini-books - Of a variety of sizes and lengths, usually (in my case) made as special gifts, as the work involved in each page is such that I would only undertake one for a special person or occasion!

Hi Dan
I look forward to reading more about your "crafty life" and hopefully seeing some of your pieces posted on here!
I have just spent almost three hours reading your blog from start to finish and am feeling totally in awe of you.
Shame I missed a lot of the Saturday things - but I am here for good now - visiting you once a week.
I feel I ought to get one of those machines you talk about just so that I can download all your wonderful tags and circles etc
Thank you for this most amazing journey - I can't wait to learn all your techniques - bless you Dan
