This weeks theme on the Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge is "Summer Holiday", so why not get creative and give this week's challenge a try?
My piece this week was inspired by beach huts I remember seeing at the seaside when I was a child. You can still see them today in some towns, mainly those that were popular seaside resorts in Victorian times.
The 3 background panels were all stamped with versamark ink and then inked over, to give a paler texture where the stamped image was. The mat behind the panels was taken from the Destinations card stack.

ReplyDeleteIt always amazes me as to what folk are prepared to pay for these little pieces of traditional seaside life and noticed in the papers recently that one seaside town had changed its rules about the colours that could be used on them - they want to create a lighter more fun appearance to the sea-front.

Love this Dan - the white is perfect and I feel a wash of St.Ives coming over me. Really fab houses and a a great card. Run up another 100 and get down to the coast with a stall!

Love your background ... very reminiscent of water. The huts in white are so striking; especially with their touch of red on the life rings. Beautiful card! <3 Candy

ReplyDeleteOh I LOVE beach huts Dan. They too remind me of summer days. My in-laws have had a beach hut in Eastbourne for over 30 years and we go there every year. Thanks for the memories. *Ü* ~Glen~
