Fee, Fie, Faux Stitching!

The theme for this week's Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge is "stitches - faux or otherwise".  My piece is very definitely in the "faux" department on this one - needle and thread are not my forte! :)

I cut this purse-shaped favour box from kraft cardstock, on my Cricut, then decorated it with stamped panels and stamped (and hand-drawn) faux stitching.  Finished it off by dying some cheesecloth using Adiriondack ColorWash sprays and using a strip from it to tie a bow closure.

Our ever-generous sponsor Simon Says Stamp is offering a $50 gift voucher as the prize again this week! The winner will be chosen at random from those who enter the challenge, so why not give it a try? At the very least why not head over to the Challenge Blog to see how the other members of the design team have interpreted this weeks theme! :)

  1. Super little bag! Love the colors. The stitching is so "real" looking! I so like the way you did a varied stitch length (I think that's what it's called -- space between the stiches?) The stained muslin bow looks very nice, as well. Great project. :)

  8. Great purse, Dan! For not being a pro-stitcher as you said, you have mastered the world of faux stitching! I love the colors too!

  11. I love it :-) My new ambition is to graduate to zig zag faux stitching, instead of straight stitches LOL. The colours are great too!

  13. Oh my, love the bag, the colour and the muslin bow and the stitching... I'd actually use that bag if it weren't paper - soggy bags are not a good look!!

  19. I don't use cartridges Fairy, I designed this bag on my computer and then cut it on the Cricut using Sure Cuts a Lot software.
