If I knew one end of a saw from the other...

... perhaps I'd be able to try and make these for myself! Unfortunately I don't, so I had to buy these wooden blocks when I saw them in a shop today. They're all scuffed and scratched up - goodness knows I spend enough time doing that to the things that I make myself that I couldn't resist these! :) Plus, they've set wheels in motion in my head, which is never a bad thing :)

  1. Dan, they are super - can't wait to see what they have inspired you to come up with.

  3. Love them, Dan. Now the kids are grown, I have a whole huge storage tub full of wonderful, high quality blocks, as well as a couple of bags of cheap blocks I got at Ikea in the kids department. I used to use them to mount unmounted stamps - before the days of cling mount and clear stamps! - but sanded they work great for this sort of thing.

The ones I got were a bag of blocks, for about $3 at the time, and were unfinished. Also the ELC has 24 for £8, wooden and painted

Not sure how they compare to "craft" blocks, but .33p seems cheap.

I must crawl into the cupboard under the stairs and see what's what...
