Freebie 38!

A Match Made in Heaven?

I've started to make my files available from my blog again and am adding a new set each week. Check out the "Cutting Files" tab at the top of the page to see which ones are available for download.
I can't take the credit for this idea, someone emailed me a couple of weeks ago suggesting it as a future freebie. Try as I might, I can't find the email anywhere, so humble apologies to the person concerned!

I've been a bit pressed for time today so didn't really have time to decorate these properly, but the important thing is that I've cut them and tested to make sure everything is ok. Hopefully you can see from the picture that that is the case!

The great thing about these is that you don't have to cut them at regular matchbox size. I've put the sleeve and drawer in the same file so that no matter how big or small you resize them, they'll always match. Why not use them to make a stunning Advent Box like the one my friend Linda made last year? (Click on the picture to read her blog post about making it). They're also perfect as gift boxes or for small party favours!

  9. I made a matchbox advent calendar last year for my grand-daughter and was amazed at how much the matchboxes cost!! I shall be tempted to make another one now and can't thank you enough for the templates - in this day and age of cutbacks they will really make it a cost effective venture!
    Best wishes

  17. Thanks, Dan. Posting without decorating it more gives me encouragement, since I seldom get things to the super decorated state that is typical with you. The box looks good plain.

  20. Brill, thanks Dan. As a non smoking family we hardly ever have matchboxes, and I often see little things made with them that would be fun to do.

  21. Thanks Dan!
This is so cool! I've tried several times to make the match box on the Tags, Bags, Boxes cartridge and always been disappointed with the results. This is so much better than the one on the cart. With a 12 by 12 piece of paper, I was able to cut four boxes with the largest being 4.5 cm by 6 cm and the smallest 2.5 cm by 4 cm. The fun thing is they can be nested one within the other.

  39. Cool beans, Dan!! Bet it works better than the one on the Cricut cartridge that you have to adjust (and I always forget by how much!!)

I believe I forgot to leave a comment before, so I'm doing it NOW. Better late than never!

Thanks again for all you do!!

  40. Hi Dan!

I've been missing you and I hope you are getting along well.

Thank you for leaving the download active for these boxes. I was having a breakdown when I couldn't find the one I thought I had downloaded, or maybe I downloaded it and can't find it.

In any case, thank you so much. I will be making a box like the one on your friend's blog. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

    Best regards,

    Carmen L
